RCCB is a switching device that can detect residual current (i.e., leakage current) in a circuit and automatically cut off the circuit. Residual current refers to the situation where the currents flowing into and out of a circuit are not equal. The difference may form a circuit through the human body or other unexpected paths, leading to electric shock accidents or fire hazards.
Working principle: RCCB operates based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. When the circuit is operating normally, the inflow and outflow currents are equal, and the magnetic fields generated by electromagnetic induction cancel each other out, keeping the RCCB in a closed state. Once a leakage occurs, the residual current will cause an imbalance in the magnetic field generated by electromagnetic induction, triggering the tripping mechanism to act and quickly cut off the circuit, thereby protecting personal safety and equipment from damage.
